Maintain solid friendships.

You don't have to throw away your friends to be independent. In fact, your independence is reinforced with good friends. When your friend needs someone to talk to, be there for them. Be trustworthy. Do not gossip or tell anyone about your friends' secrets or personal matters. Even if they didn't say anything about it. Be a strong person for your friends and loved ones. It not only shows you're selfless but pretty soon you'll learn how to deal with any situation that comes your way because of your friends' experiences.

GPU price rise

An increase in cryptocurrency mining increased the demand for graphics cards (GPU) in 2017. (The computing power of GPUs makes them well-suited to generating hashes.) Popular favourites of cryptocurrency miners such as Nvidia's GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 graphics cards, as well as AMD's RX 570 and RX 580 GPUs, doubled or tripled in price – or were out of stock. A GTX 1070 Ti which was released at a price of $450 sold for as much as $1100. Another popular card GTX 1060's 6 GB model was released at an MSRP of $250, sold for almost $500. RX 570 and RX 580 cards from AMD were out of stock for almost a year. Miners regularly buy up the entire stock of new GPU's as soon as they are available. Nvidia has asked retailers to do what they can when it comes to selling GPUs to gamers instead of miners. "Gamers come first for Nvidia ," said Boris Böhles, PR manager for Nvidia in the German region.

Pickup artistry

The MGTOW community has a reciprocal disdain for the pickup artist (PUA) community due to their differing opinions towards women. Whereas MGTOW communities focus on separating entirely from women, pickup artists focus on developing techniques to have sex with women. PUA communities have mocked MGTOW as "Virgins Going Their Own Way". MGTOW communities deride PUAs as being entirely dependent on women's approval, and because they place so much value in attaining sexual success with women, MGTOW says PUA communities contribute to what they see as overvaluing of women in gynocentric society.

brand

In the modern era, the concept of branding has expanded to include deployment by a manager of the marketing and communication techniques and tools that help to distinguish a company or products from competitors, aiming to create a lasting impression in the minds of customers. The key components that form a brand's toolbox include a brand's identity, personality, product design, brand communication (such as by logos and trademarks), brand awareness, brand loyalty, and various branding (brand management) strategies. Many companies believe that there is often little to differentiate between several types of products in the 21st century, hence branding is among a few remaining forms of product differentiation.

communication

There is much #talk nowadays of the communication industry and are communication experts, consultants and engineers. However, it would be #misleading to believe that communication is the province of a small group of people highly #qualified and highly #trained in a specific discipline. Whether we like it or not, we are all part of communities, of some sort or other and are thus necessarily #involved in communication. When we communicate with someone, we are trying to establish a co-union by sharing an idea, an attitude, a mood, a feeling, or #informating. We can communicate in many ways: by writing a letter by ringing a doorbell by making a telephone call and by #pulling a face. Any communication process is essentially composed of three elements -a #source, a #signal and a #destination. The #source may be an individual person speaking, writing, gesturing or an organisation such as a newspaper or a radio or television #station. The #signal may consist of ink on paper, soundwaves, a ge

Labor

Labour is the source of all wealth. Without workers, the world's natural resources cannot be transformed into finished goods and services cannot be delivered. Labor, though, is a uniquely important resource because, unlike others, it is capable of altering its own conditions of existence and of challenging how it is used.

Cryptocurrencies and Blockchains

With the increasing adoption of blockchain technology, the role of an accountant will change but not be eliminated. Think of mechanics. You still need the mechanic, but the mechanic will have new things to learn. The new technology will let accountants spend their time on the highest leveraged activities. Consider the role before Excel. People thought Excel would do our work for us, but it didn’t. But it is a better spreadsheet and made the job easier. Technology is changing at an exponential rate. Ignorance and apathy will put the slower movers at a disadvantage. It is expensive and it is complex, but if you don’t experiment with it, you will be in danger of falling behind. Now, remember when you first saw the internet? What about when you received a PC or a laptop? It is just another tool. It is a new tool that will change the role but not to make it obsolete. Those accountants who can embrace new technology, AI and blockchain will be well ahead of the game.

Create Engaging Content Especially for LinkedIn

Just as with other social networks, you can post simple text updates, images, and links to other sites, and you can share posts from other users. But make sure that your post is useful, informative and relevant to your professional connections. And you may want to brush up your writing skills! You can also record or upload video directly to LinkedIn from your device. This allows you to share your insights and experiences, or to boost your organization's brand identity. Use the built-in filters and "stickers" to brighten up your video, and add captions for people who watch with the sound off. LinkedIn also allows you to publish full articles, via its Publishing Platform. The articles that you write appear on your profile. They can be shared by other users, and may also appear in search engine results, but you retain the rights to any original content that you publish. This is a great way to showcase your industry expertise. SlideShare is another option for delivering hig

The laws

The fundamental Wiio's law states that "Communication usually fails, except by accident". The full set of laws is as follows: 1. Communication usually fails, except by accident. 1. If communication can fail, it will. 2. If communication cannot fail, it still most usually fails. 3. If communication seems to succeed in the intended way, there's a misunderstanding. 4. If you are content with your message, communication certainly fails. 2. If a message can be interpreted in several ways, it will be interpreted in a manner that maximises the damage. 3. There is always someone who knows better than you what you meant with your message. 4. The more we communicate, the worse communication succeeds. 1. The more we communicate, the faster misunderstandings propagate. 5. In mass communication, the important thing is not how things are but how they seem to be. 6. The importance of a news item is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. 7. The more impor

Focus on your writing skills.

It's the one thing I've found that really helps people stand out. More and more communication is written today. Get great at presenting yourself with words, and words alone, and you'll be far ahead of most. Also, most of the stuff you'll worry about doesn't matter anyway. You'll sweat so many details that no one will care about. It's not that details don't matter - they do - but only the right details matter. Pay close attention to what you're spending your time on. Time and attention are very different things. They're your most precious resources moving forward. Just like you walk through the air and you swim through the water, you walk through your attention. It's the medium of work. While people often say there's not enough time, remember that you'll always have less attention than time. Full attention is where you do your best work, and everyone's going to be looking to rip it from you. Protect and preserve it.

According to Forbes, the following questions must be answered in the mission statement:

“What do we do?” — The mission statement should clearly outline the main purpose of the organisation, and what they do. “How do we do it?” — It should also mention how one plans on achieving the mission statement. “Whom do we do it for?” — The audience of the mission statement should be clearly stated within the mission statement. “What value are we bringing?” — The benefits and values of the mission statement should be clearly outlined. When designing a mission statement, it should be very clear to the audience what the purpose of it is. It is ideal for a business to be able to communicate their mission, goals and objectives to the reader without including any unnecessary information through the mission statement. Richard Branson has commented on ways of crafting a good mission statement; he explains the importance of having a mission statement that is clear and straight to the point and does not contain unnecessary baffling. He went on to analyse a mission statement, using Yahoo'

Mission statement

According to Chris Bart, professor of strategy and governance at McMaster University a commercial mission statement consists of three essential components: Key market: the target audience Contribution: the product or service Distinction: what makes the product unique or why the audience should buy it over another Bart estimates that in practice, only about ten percent of mission statements say something meaningful. For this reason, they are widely regarded with contempt.

Human development

Development is a human process, in the sense that human beings, not material factors, drive development. The energy and aspiration of people who seek development form the motive force that drives development. People's awareness may decide the direction of development. Their efficiency, productivity, creativity, and organisational capacities determine the level of people’s accomplishment and enjoyment. Development is the outer realisation of latent inner potentials. The level of people's education, the intensity of their aspiration and energies, quality of their attitudes and values, skills and information all affect the extent and pace of development. These factors come into play whether it is the development of the individual, family, community, nation, or the whole world.

Leaders Who Deliver

We share the maximum we can We use our power mindfully and vigilantly We create conditions for motivation to flourish We are obsessed with performance and results We stamp on poor behaviour whatever the result We review wins and losses with equal passion and discipline We adjust goals in any direction to ensure we are motivating We talk endlessly about responsibility We are mindful when using our power We understand the politics

What advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the "real world"?

Don't worry about making money. Don't stress about having a plan. don't think about networking or setting yourself up for the next thing. Try as hard as you possibly can to find something you love, because the depressing reality is that most people never find a career that they're truly passionate about. For many people, the real world is a slog and they live for the weekends. It will never get easier than right now to recklessly pursue your passion. Do it

The Art of SWOT by Sun Tzu

"So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss. If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose. If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself."

Impact of television and Internet

By the late 1990s, the availability of news via 24-hour television channels and then the availability of online journalism posed an ongoing challenge to the business model of most newspapers in developed countries. Paid circulation has declined, while advertising revenue—which makes up the bulk of most newspapers' income—has been shifting from print to the new media (social media websites and news websites), resulting in a general decline in print newspapers' revenues and profits. Many newspapers around the world launched online editions in the 2000s, in an attempt to follow or stay ahead of their audience. One of the big challenges is that a number of online news websites, such as Google news, are free to access. Some online news sites are free, and rely on online advertising; other online news sites have a paywall and require paid subscription for access. However, in the non-developed countries, cheaper printing and distribution, increased literacy, the growing middle class a

Use the 85% Rule to invest in yourself

When it comes to starting a new business, too many of us will get overwhelmed thinking that we need to do everything “perfectly.” In fact, many will spin their tires doing things like: Starting a blog Creating a Facebook page Buying ads on Google Hiring skywriters to promote their business in the skies Whatever This is an easy way to get burned out, leading us to do nothing at all. Your goal isn’t to start a blog or create a Facebook page with millions of likes — your goal is to FIND PAYING CLIENTS. That’s why the easiest way to start freelancing is to take things one step at a time and not worry about getting it perfect. I’d rather get it 85% right than do nothing at all. Remember: it’s okay to make mistakes. The important thing is that you get started and learn from those mistakes. The best way to get started is to begin investing in yourself.  Now, one thing that you will find very common with people who have not taken the time to invest in themselves and learn how this stuff works

Humility and leadership

Recent research suggests that humility is a quality of certain types of leaders. For example, Jim Collins and his colleagues found that a certain type of leader, whom they term "level 5", possesses humility and fierce resolve. Humility is being studied as a trait that can enhance leadership effectiveness. The research suggests that humility is multi-dimensional and includes self-understanding and awareness, openness, and perspective-taking.

You know you are an MBA when….

You ask the waiter what the restaurant’s core competencies are. You decide to re-org your family into a ‘team-based organization.’ You refer to dating as test marketing. You can spell ‘paradigm.’ You actually know what a paradigm is. You understand your airline’s fare structure. You write executive summaries on your love letters. You think it is actually efficient to write a ten-page paper with six other people you do not know. You believe you never have any problems in your life, just ‘issues’ and ‘improvement opportunities.’ You calculate your own personal cost of capital. You refer to your previous life as ‘my sunk costs.’ Your three meals a day are a ‘morning consumption function’, a ‘noontime consumption function’, and an ‘even consumption function.’ You start to feel sorry for Dilbert’s boss. You refer to divorce as ‘divestiture.’ Your favourite artist is the one who does the dot drawings for the Wall Street Journal. None of your favourite publications has cartoons. You account

Quote I’m pondering

“For one human being to love another human being: that is perhaps the most difficult task that has been entrusted to us, the ultimate task, the final test and proof, the work for which all other work is merely preparation.”- Rainer Maria Rilke

— Seneca the Younger

“No person would give up even an inch of their estate, and the slightest dispute with a neighbor can mean hell to pay; yet we easily let others encroach on our lives—worse, we often pave the way for those who will take it over. No person hands out their money to passersby, but to how many do each of us hand out our lives! We’re tight-fisted with property and money, yet think too little of wasting time, the one thing about which we should all be the toughest misers.”

High Potential leaders (Hi-Po's)

“How you meet your own commitments is important. Are you doing it by draining energy—driving people relentlessly, or burning them out by making impossible demands? Or are you expanding the capacity of the organization by helping people grow and expand their own capacities? In other words, there’s a right and a wrong way to delegate.” The High-Potential Leader: How to Grow Fast, Take on New Responsibilities, and Make an Impact

Inner peace

(or peace of mind) refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors . Being "at peace" is considered by many to be healthy ( homeostasis ) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious, and is considered to be a state where our mind performs at an optimal level with a positive outcome. Peace of mind is thus generally associated with bliss , happiness and contentment .

The case for slowing your roll in the morning.

"A growing portion of workers is embracing the benefits of starting the day in slow motion. Instead of reaching for their phones at first light then sprinting to the office, slow morning enthusiasts wake up a bit earlier and meditate, read or simply do nothing at all, The Wall Street Journal reports. Such quiet, often tech-free moments can pay creative dividends, with proponents arguing the personal time helps them start their days stress-free. "

Credit cards as funding for entrepreneurs

Credit cards are a risky way for entrepreneurs to acquire capital for their startups when more conventional financing is unavailable. Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner used personal credit cards to start Cisco Systems . Larry Page and Sergey Brin 's start up of Google was financed by credit cards to buy the necessary computers and office equipment, more specifically "a terabyte of hard disks ". Similarly, filmmaker Robert Townsend financed part of Hollywood Shuffle using credit cards. Director Kevin Smith funded Clerks in part by maxing out several credit cards. Actor Richard Hatch also financed his production of Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming partly through his credit cards. Famed hedge fund manager Bruce Kovner began his career (and, later on, his firm Caxton Associates ) in financial markets by borrowing from his credit card. UK entrepreneur James Caan (as seen on Dragons' Den ) financed his first business using several credit cards.

Financial technology

often shortened to fintech, is the technology and innovation that aims to compete with traditional financial methods in the delivery of financial services . It is an emerging industry that uses technology to improve activities in finance. The use of smartphones for mobile banking , investing services and cryptocurrency are examples of technologies aiming to make financial services more accessible to the general public. Financial technology companies consist of both startups and established financial institutions and technology companies trying to replace or enhance the usage of financial services provided by existing financial companies.

Social intelligence

Social intelligence is the capacity to know oneself and to know others. Social Intelligence develops from experience with people and learning from success and failures in social settings. It is more commonly referred to as “tact,” “ Common sense ,” or “street smarts.” Social scientist Ross Honeywill believes social intelligence is an aggregated measure of self- and social-awareness, evolved social beliefs and attitudes, and a capacity and appetite to manage complex social change. Psychologist , Nicholas Humphrey believes that it is social intelligence, rather than quantitative intelligence, that defines who we are as humans. The original definition by Edward Thorndike in 1920 is "the ability to understand and manage men and women and boys and girls, to act wisely in human relations". It is equivalent to interpersonal intelligence , one of the types of intelligence identified in Howard Gardner 's theory of multiple intelligences , and closely related to the theory of

a happy person

Your happiness is your responsibility. It's an inside job. To place the burden on others to do and say things that make you happy, is a self-defeating battle, one that will bring you continued misery. If you practice little acts of happiness every day, you will be in a happy state. And when done long enough, it will become your nature. Routine and discipline are powerful forces. When you include acts of happiness as a part of your daily routine and when happiness becomes a discipline—you will become it. Imagine being in a state of happiness no matter what negativity and challenges life throws at you. Life is such... and you need to be such to—a happy person.

Opportunities

You might find useful opportunities in the following: Networking events, educational classes, or conferences. A colleague going on an extended leave. Could you take on some of this person's projects to gain experience? A new role or project that forces you to learn new skills, like public speaking or international relations. A company expansion or acquisition. Do you have specific skills (like a second language) that could help with the process?

Shazam

Shazam  is an American  application  owned by  Apple Inc.  The application can identify music, movies, advertising, and television shows, based on a short sample played and using the microphone on the device.  The software is available for  Android ,  macOS ,  iOS ,  watchOS , and  Windows . On 24 September 2018, the company was acquired by Apple for a reported $400 million. Shazam can identify the music being played from any source, provided that the background noise level is not high enough to prevent an acoustic fingerprint being taken, and that the song is present in the software's database. As well as the free app, the company has released a paid app called Shazam Encore. In September 2012, the service was expanded to enable TV users in the US to identify featured music, access cast information, and get links to show information online, as well as added social networking capabilities. As of September 2012, Shazam had raised US$32 million in funding.  In July 2013,  América M
